School's For Fools

So far today I have taken 2 finals. In one class I ended up with a 90.25! holy hallelujah. And in my 2D design class I was sure I got a B. But nope got an A by 2 points!!! For Geography I happily did NO studying because so far that has worked out well for the previous exams. I hope I DON'T get an A in that class cuz, welp, lets be honest... I don't deserve a 4.0 GPA. It just wouldn't be fair to all those who actually study. Tonight I have my last final in ART HISTORY. Memorize 100 paintings, get atleast a 60%, and I got my last A of the day! Adios School, see ya in a month.

Mom

Today is my mom's birthday... Kinda. It was actually LAST Sunday but she had the stomach flu that day so we decided that day didn't count!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!
I can't even explain how thankful I am for my mom. Even tho sometimes it seems like we are COMPLETE opposites of eachother, I know that so many of my mom's traits and characteristics have been past down to me and they are characteristics that her mom had and traits that I can only hope to have when I am a mother someday. My mom thinks about her family 24/7. She always stays positive. She has put all of her effort into creating a home and a family that is centered around the gospel and no matter what the latest trend is in the world, she has always taught us that the only safe place to be is righteously living all aspects of the gospel. She has taught us to be humble, to be thankful, and to work hard for what you have. She is selfless and patient and sacrifices all for the happiness of others. She taught us to develop all our talents and never give up on our dreams, but she also keeps me grounded in reality when necessary. With all the corruption and temptations in this world it amazes me how strong of a person my mom continues to be. I know she has a special place waiting for her in heaven and I can only pray that one day my children can say the same things about me.

I Hate It When I Can't Sleep!!!

Dear Bloggy McBlogger,
Its 12:30 and i've been trying to sleep for over an hour now. But when i was in the bathroom brushing my teeth i heard funny noises and got all scared. Weird scenarios started running through my mind and I was therefore trapped in the bathroom cuz i was too afraid to open the door. (What am I... A three year old!!!) So I said a prayer... (also quite ridiculous) and then bolted out the door to my room hoping the crazy killer was not going to jump out at me. I think i've watched too many scary movies??? Negative. The scariest movie I have ever seen is The Ring. I think I'm just a La La who will never grow up when it comes to being scared of the dark and weird noises at night. Anyhoo, now i am wide awake. My mind won't stop thinking... About lots of really random stuff. Like how I sorta feel like I have the flu... and I have school in a few hours... and i'm getting real tired of school... and I wish I had a girl best friend... i always feel like talking to one and wish she was out there somewhere. Tomorrow is Thursday, correction TODAY is Thursday... TECHnically. And Thursdays are usually good days cuz i have a large break in the middle after school and before dance. I'm excited for Friday, holy cow this weekend came fast. Just seems like I was a loner last weekend like 2 SECONDS ago. My room is messy. Did you know that I change my clothes everytime I come home during the day? Sometimes I leave and come back 4 or 5 times... And I never hang up my clothes therefore my room gets messy QUICK! Weird craving... chocolate milk. If a scary killer wasn't outside my door... possibly hiding in the kitchen, I would go make myself a nice glass of Ovaltine... I just wrote CHICKEN 4 times while trying to spell Kitchen... It must be time to try and sleep again. Adios.

Reasons To Smile

A comment my sister made the other day (Kim, you are the most negative person I know)... on top of everything else... really made me realize that I need to be happy. I need to look at each day and realize how many blessings I have and I need to stop putting myself down. So today I have been trying really hard to notice all of the things that made me smile...

*Eating 6 double stuffed oreos for breakfast at work.
*Seriously regretting that decision about 30 minutes later.
*Setting up a patient who said, "Babe, i might need to call you in here... I just took a laxative."
*Wondering why anyone would take a laxative and then LEAVE the house!
*Working on an old man named NEWT who wears a barrett and who told me, "you have a beautiful smile."
*Eating pink laffy taffy's for "mid breakfast" at work (we don't have a wide selection of food)
*Having several patients tell me how great they feel after I work on them.
*Getting to take lunch to my best friend.
*Eating carmel pecan and custard Ocean Blue with LOTS of granola!
*Taking icecream to my sister.
*Playing with Olivia for 2 hours.
*Olivia almost said my name! she says some form of the word HAM which kinda sounds like KIM.
*Hearing Olivia say Brrrrr after each bite of icecream.
*Almost running over a bicyclist on my way home. (Probably shouldn't have made me laugh)
*Having some of the most AMAZING music to listen to 24/7
*Realizing the inside of my car hasn't been cleaned since i bought it 1.2 years ago.
*Realizing the outside of my car has NEVER been through the car wash and has not even been hand washed since June if not earlier?!!!
*Hanging a yummy SCENSY car candle that smells like an attractive boy to replace the serious LACK of the male species in my life.
*About to go eat homemade pizza!
*Going to give the FHE lesson which was fun to prepare
*About to go to school for three hours tonight.... ok sorry i couldn't smile about that one, that's pushin it!!!

What I've Been Up To

WELL! Life = crazy basically so of course it has been forever since I have posted. My life is pretty crazy with work, dance, and school. I am very much enjoying my art classes minus the fact that they are late at night after long days of school and work... I have my art history class tonight where i have to sit in the dark for 3 hours and listen to an 80 year old woman with a new york accent talk about atleast 50 old paintings.... snoooorrrrre. Luckily i found a friend so i have someone to help me study. Dance is going really good. I love being able to dance twice a week and get semi back into dancing shape. Don't have time for the gym anymore and dancing is way funner anyway :) The girls I teach are AMAZING and definately make me work hard.

Olivia just turned 1 on September 12th. These are a few ADORABLE pictures from her birthday party at Peter Piper. Check out the pigtails... and jewelry made by her aunt Camille... so cute! I pretty much am in LOVE with this little girl.

Better Late Than Never

The fam and I took our annual july 4 trip up to the cabin. We decided to be adventurous and actually step OUTSIDE of the cabin this time. We got canoes and went to the lake!!! it was way fun.

ok, so ever since I was little a tradition has been that everytime we go to the lake my dad would catch crawdads and put them on his ears. this time... I actually held one... sick. we named him crusty and if you can see this picture closely... he is saluting the camera!

This is my dad with crusty in his mouth... most of the time I am proud to claim this man as my father... this was NOT one of those moments.

After lunch we went shopping for a few hours. Olivia was not exactly a trooper. But it was a fun afternoon!

Cabin Trip

This past weekend we took our first family trip of the summer to our cabin in Forest Lakes. I was a loner and thank goodness Olivia was there to be my best friend. Honestly... i don't know if anything makes me happier that this girl. We took QUITE the photo shoot of Olivia's first time in the forest... Here are a few of my favorites.
