Merry Christmas And Happy New Year

So Christmas came and went, and this year it never quite felt like Christmas! But I still had an amazing weekend! On Christmas Eve Jess and I went to his big family dinner that he has every year. Lots of delicious mexican food and too many chips and salsa.

Jess and I opened our gifts to eachother on Christmas Eve because we had to be at my house early Christmas morning. It was so much fun shopping for him and I was absolutely AMAZED that he shopped for me without me even telling him what i wanted! He got me new nike shoes, a few shirts, a jacket, my favorite movie, and 2 delicious smelling perfumes.

Christmas Day was a lot of fun too. He came over early and watched us open our gifts. He had a few under the tree that he got to open also. We then had breakfast at my aunts house, breakfast is officially my favorite meal of the day.

Jess's Birthday is the day after Christmas so we just kept on partying! We went to breakfast at T.C. Eggintons which was superb. We then saw Sherlock Holmes which was hilarious. That night we made homemade pizza and homemade chocolate icecream! (Thanks to my mom for the new cooking stone and the icecream maker!) The rest of the evening consisted of several intense 1 on 1 Call of Duty battles in which I think we ended up tieing??? I used to beat him all the time but he is getting way to good now.

I wish i had some pictures to post but hopefully i'll have some soon. This Christmas season has been so much fun being engaged and I can't wait for next year when i will be married! A few things that I will always remember about this Christmas were:
*Watching Home Alone and quoting the entire movie
*Hot Chocolate
*Dancing like idiots in the kitchen to cheesy Christmas songs
*Playing Call of Duty while Jess wrapped my presents and hearing him crack up cuz he couldn't figure out how to wrap clothes without boxes!
*The awesome POST IT NOTES that he used on my presents instead of gift tags
*The amazing feelings of being around people you love and care about!

Merry Christmas to everyone, hope you all have a great NEW YEARS!!!
I've got some ridiculous new years resolutions so stay tuned for those :)

...My New Favorite Thing...

So yesterday I got this lovely gift from my best friend and LOVE of my life.

The event was a complete surprise and took me so off guard I couldn't help but cry my little eyes out :)
These beautiful flowers were spread all over the table and the room was lit with hundreds of candles :)
Many AMAZING words were said...
He got down on one knee...
i said YES...
The rest is history, haha that sounds cheesy. But it was the greatest moment so far in my life.

And I'm a little OBSESSED to say the least :)
I LOVE YOU JESS!

OCTOBER BABY!

Well it's mid October and I must say I am quite happy about that.
So far in October...
I got my surgery cast off and got to see this bad boy,
looks more gruesome that it is,
but getting the stitches out was not as painless as she made it sound
"Just a pull and snip ok?!?!"
Yeah pull and snip then slowly pull the thick stitches out of my skin!

So after that I got more x-rays and the doctor
said everything looks good,
I got a REAL black cast that is much more flattering..
looks exactly like this chicks...

So I get that cast off October 26th and couldn't be more excited too
get rid of these pieces of junk

Well that's the update on the foot. Other things that have been happening in October would be a massive case of the FLU. Don't touch anything or anyone cuz you will get it. I am currently in bed recovering from my hit #2 of the flu this month. YUCK, can't wait for it to just go away.
I am LOVING the cooler weather outside and can't wait for it to continue dropping degrees.
I'm also loving my best friend...

who makes everyday amazing!!!
Happy October.

If It Weren't For Bad Luck... I'd Have No Luck At All

Saturday: September 5
Today I broke my foot. Nice doctor in Payson informed me I have ONE broken bone.. no surgery required. (sigh of relief) He says go to an Orthopedic Surgeon on Tuesday to get a cast for 6-8 weeks. (6-8 weeks! You have got to be kidding me! That's so long!)

Tuesday: September 8
Today I crutched to the Orthopedic Surgeon very excited to get my cast.. This broken foot all out in the open is starting to get annoying. "Rich doctor who steals our money" comes in and says, "your x-rays from payson aren't very good.. you need to go get more and a CT scan" (You've got to be kidding me)
At this point I'm slightly perturbed.. I had to miss school (again) and off we go to the imaging center. Lots of paperwork and some more radiation damage for me.

Wednesday: September 9
Today my brand new Sony Laptop crashed. (Just thought I'd add that in since we are talking about bad luck).
Went back to the Orthopedic Surgeon and gave them the x-rays and CT scans. "Rich doctor who charges us bottomloads of money for his "professional opinion" comes in after an hour and says, "The results say you have not ONE but THREE broken bones, and also you have the possibility of a lisfranc fracture and may need surgery" (a lis-a-what fracture and why does the word surgery send a shooting pain to my stomach?) The man continues to say, "You need to go see a foot and ankle specialist in Phoenix right now."

We get in the car and I ask my mom if its ok if I have a breakdown... She says yes.
After my breakdown we arrive in Phoenix. I nervously crutch to the doctors office where we sit and fill out more paperwork.. I miss more school.. an hour later we get called back.

Super professional looking man walks in with his lab coat and all. He looks at my x-rays and CT scans and without the slightest sympathy decides to inform me, "you DO indeed has a lisfranc fracture. This only happens 1:55,000 times a year, it would have been better if you would have broken your ankle. I will be putting a plate in your third medatarsal as well as a screw in your first medatarsal and screws across your lisfranc joint. You'll have a cast for 6 weeks, be on a walking boot for 6 weeks, full recovery will take place after a YEEEAAARRR. possibility of arthritis post surgery would lead to fusion of the joint and dancing will not be in your future.

During this speech I was uncontrollably sobbing and the second he left I broke down and informed my mother I will be giving up on life now... haha i'm so dramatic.

SOOOO!!! Long story short I am going in for surgery on Monday. I'm very nervous but friends and family have helped me feel alot better about my situation and I know that through prayer and FAITH and lots of natural medicine ;) I'll be able to have a full recovery and hopefully get back to dancing sooner than they predicted.

WISH ME LUCK!

First Time For Everything

Welp, there is a first time for everything....
and yesterday I experienced alot of "first time" things.

1. Riding a Rhino

2. Tipping, and having my bare foot crushed by a rhino

3. Breaking a bone
(This is a picture of a picture... can't really see it)

4. Having to carry around this bad boy till i get my permanent cast that I will have for 8 weeks! Moral of the story... don't ride rhinos, if you do ride them wear SHOES!!!!

WISDOM TEETH!

So I got all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth out on Friday morning. I have been dreading this experience for quite some time, and i have heard absolute HORROR stories... But thankfully it has been a piece of CAKE! The surgery went great, my mommy has been such a doll and has taken amazing care of me. I live off of mash potatoes and jamba juice. Today when i woke up I had a slight case of chipmunk cheeks, but that has been the worst part. Anyway just wanted to end on this wonderful note...

HOW LUCKY AM I! I LOVE MY NIECES!

L.I.F.E.

Well its summer now! i don't have any cool stories or pictures at the moment... But I wanted to post and say that LIFE is an interesting thing... As a kid its so carefree, yesterday Olivia's only worry in the world was that her balloon POPPED! and she needed a new one IMMEDIATELY! Once she got more balloons life was as good as it gets! As I'm growing up I'm finally realizing that life isn't gonna be as easy as I thought it was... Life doesn't just hand you all the good stuff. When things aren't going the best for me I get really upset at LIFE. So.. LIFE, I would like you to know that I'm upset at you again... you are lucky that in a few weeks you will be giving me a brand new baby niece. If it weren't for that, we would be on much different terms.

WOW... its almost May

Pssst... hello? is anyone still out there? I'm still alive, I promise. Sorry its been a LOOONG time since I've posted. I have a hard time finding interesting things to post about! Exciting news is schools almost over!!!!! Just one more week, then finals, and then its OVER! I really shouldn't complain... seeing that my degree is ART, where i come to class with paper and pencils and draw. But the art department is sooooo relaxed. you can come, or you don't have to! as long as you get your stuff done. So if I don't HAVE to come, why would i want to wake up before 8:00A.M.? So i rarely go, which means i got to do my homework at home.... which i don't. now its down to the wire... and i got a loooong weekend ahead of me. ANYWAY thats that as far as school goes. Once the semester is over ill post some of my favorite projects i did.

I still teach dance 3 nights a week and I wish that was my only job. How great life would be if it was. Some fun things we have done as a dance company is perform at California Adventure in February.
Calli and I had a little too much fun on this trip. We were so in need of this vacation and we made the most of it!
Please notice Calli's head in the corner :)
We also just had a Benefit concert this last weekend, where the Suns dunk team and gorilla performed! It was a huge success and the girls did awesome! We are just getting ready to have our end of the year recital in May. Then we will move on to summer dance! I can't wait!

Welp the other exciting new is that my sister Kristen will be having her second girl this July. Her first child, Olivia, whom i'm in love with, Has brought such great joy this whole year. Here's a few highlights.
Easter Sunday, Olivia playing with the baby chickens!
She thinks she's all grown up or something :)Just Chillin in the cribPicture I took for my photo classEaster Photo Shoot I took for Kristen. I wish I could post ALL the pictures.. cuz they are so cute.So I can't wait for the new baby to come so i can have more subjects to photograph!
Other news:
We are remodeling our house... much needed
I'm moving out!!! WOOT WOOT

I'll end now with this video of Olivia. She loves to play my BROWN guitar and WHITE guitar. And she loves that she knows the different colors :)

The New Year

Well, 2009 hasn't exactly felt like the brand new start I was hoping for. I guess the difference of one number in the date doesn't exactly change things much. I did really enjoy having time off of school and work. I started a new sleeping habit where I stayed up till 2 and woke up at 11. It was absolutely magical but things that good don't last very long. This week I started school. In fact I am currently sitting (by myself) in the cafeteria blogging because my photo class let us out an HOUR early... I'm not complaining tho :) I am really excited for school. My drawing class and computer art class are going to be my favorite. I just wish I didn't have to wake up so early everyday. I also started teaching dance 3 days a week. It has really kicked me back into shape and I'm loving it. I really enjoy teaching and choreographing dances is stressful, but fun once they are all done. I am performing with a dance group called DANCE ADRENALINE at the Mesa High Showcase on the 31st. That should be fun. Welp besides school and dance I have not been up to much. I'm workin on redoing my room but it will be awhile before I am all done. Olivia is getting so big! Yesterday I had to babysit her for a few minutes while grandma ran somewhere and she is seriously like a little person now. We jumped on the tramp and then sat in the sink and brushed our teeth for what seemed like 10 hours. if i ever put my toothbrush down she immediately looked at me and wimpered until I put it back in! She makes me laugh. anyway, its time to go to art history now. LATER
